TLMI L.I.F.E. Certification for Four Companies

GLOUCESTER, MA | The Tag and Label Mfrs. Institute (TLMI) reports four member company facilities recently achieved L.I.F.E. (Label Initiative for the Environment) Certification. The program’s newly certified plants include Lauterbach Group, Sussex, WI; the Peachtree City, GA, division of Avery Dennison; and the Winchester, VA, and Green Bay, WI, facilities of Green Bay Packaging.

The L.I.F.E. program was developed to assist TLMI members to find cost-effective ways to reduce the environmental footprint of their companies. L.I.F.E., a program designed specifically for the narrow web marketplace, addresses four key elements of the narrow web printing and converting industry: clean production, energy and greenhouse gases, product and environmentally preferable materials, and management practices.

TLMI president Frank Sablone, says, “These new L.I.F.E. certifications mark a significant milestone for the program as the number of certified companies now numbers 40. Three years ago the TLMI Environmental Committee introduced the program to association members and it is thrilling for me, and for the TLMI board of directors, to see so many companies benefitting from what the certification process has to offer. The fact that we have companies like Avery Dennison and Green Bay Packaging achieving certification at multiple manufacturing sites only serves to reinforce the tangible benefits L.I.F.E. brings to our members.”
