AWA Presents Specialty Paper Event

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS | Just days remain until the Specialty Paper Industry Conference 2012, a source of market intelligence on the current status, trends, issues, and technology change in the specialty paper industry. The conference, organized by AWA Alexander Watson Assoc., will be held March 12–13 at the Casa 400 Hotel in Amsterdam.

The event features a number of well-known speakers on paper-related topics, and offers a full program for all concerned with the manufacture, sale, and use of specialty papers. The agenda includes a review of the global specialty paper and paperboard market in 2011 from Corey M Reardon, president and CEO of AWA.

Also on the agenda will be the forest, paper, and packaging industries; strategies to replace TiO2 in board and specialty papers; smooth and flexible filler-nanocellulose substrate for printed electronics applications; and the “marriage” between pulp and specialty papers.

Current industry thinking in relation to sustainability and recycling in p-s labeling is discussed by Calvin Frost of Channeled Resources Group. An interactive panel discussion which highlights the “negative image” that surrounds the paper industry will conclude the program.

The two-day agenda concludes with a facility tour of independent paper maker Crown Van Gelder’s facility in Velsen-Noord, near Amsterdam.
