KristaFilms Installs Fourth BOPP Line

MONTEREY, MEXICO | KristaFilms announces the installation of the company's newest BOPP production line at the Monterrey N.L. Mexico plant. Jose Kuri, president and general manager of KristaFilms, says the installation was completed on schedule, with the installation done by the company's own engineering staff.

This 7.5-m line, with seven-layer coex capability, is the company’s fourth production line, reportedly enabling it to offer products including clear and metallized films with high moisture and oxygen barrier, films for the packaging and label markets with higher seal strength, as well as white packaging and label films with greater opacity and gloss.

Located in Monterrey Mexico, less than 150 miles south of the US border, the company says it is well positioned to service both the U.S. and Mexican markets. The company has invested in production capabilities that allow for quick change from one product to the next, smaller minimum production runs, and a greater emphasis on non-commodity products. It also expects additional investments in 2014.
