Group to Provide RFID Solutions
BOCA RATON, FL, USA — Tyco Fire & Security, a business segment of Tyco Intl., has formed a team of companies specializing in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technologies to provide turnkey RFID integration services and solutions for the retail supply chain. Called epcSTARS, this team initially will include ADT Security Services and Sensormatic, as well as Rafsec Oy, ThingMagic, and GlobeRanger Corp.

According to George Reynolds, VP of RFID for Tyco Fire & Security, by combining each company's product and service specialties, the team can provide end-to-end RFID solutions to help manufacturers meet 2005 implementation goals set by Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer.


AIM NA Creates RFID Toolkit
PITTSBURGH, PA, USA — AIM North America, the chapter organization for Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) Technologies, has created an RFID Informational Toolkit to assist solution providers in their RFID sales efforts. The contents include materials such as papers on basic RFID technology, RFID market data, tips on selling RFID products, and application stories.
