2006 Excellence in Flexography Awards Seek Entries

RONKONKOMA, NY—The Flexographic Technical Assn. (FTA) has now is accepting entries for the 2006 Excellence in Flexography Awards. The awards competition encourages the pursuit of high-quality printing and technical achievement.

Entries must have been created between January 1 and December 31, 2005. Judging is based on the degree of difficulty pertaining to substrate printability, registration tolerances, printing complexity, defect detectability, tonal range, and fineness of print and/or screen. Additionally, elements such as image sharpness, ink coverage, registration, consistency, and dot/screen/vignette quality will be assessed.

The competition is open to FTA members and non-members including all printers/converters, suppliers, prepress providers, students, and graphic artists. Entries are broken down into the following categories: wide web, mid web, narrow web, combined corrugated, preprinted linerboard, envelope, newspaper/publications, self-promotion, and student, as well as two new categories: napkins and folding cartons.

The awards deadline is January 6, 2006. The winners will be announced at the Annual Awards Banquet on Sunday, April 30, 2006 during the Foundation of FTA’s Annual Forum & INFO*FLEX Exhibition at the Kentucky Intl. Convention Center in Louisville, KY.
