Vancouver Sharp Imaging Installs Creo's Thermoflex Mid

VANCOUVER, CANADA - Vancouver Sharp Imaging is the first company worldwide to install the next generation ThermoFlex Mid digital imaging device, developed specifically for packaging industry requirements, from Creo. The machine was installed in November alongside other components of the Creo Complete product bundle, including the Prinergy Powerpack® prepress workflow system, Hyperflex™ resolution enhancement software, Maxtone™, DigiCap™ and Raster Scaling advanced screening solutions, and the Prinergy Color Management Package Pro.

Vancouver Sharp Imaging hopes the installation will help transition from a film-based workflow to computer-to-plate as well as expand the flexo portion of business. Marc Lebel, Vancouver's plat manager, says, "With the Creo system, we will be able to eliminate a lot of the manual work we have been doing, improve control over the workflow process, and take advantage of the latest digital imaging and screening technologies on the market."

The next generation ThermoFlex Mid is said to be ideal for trade shops and printers using plates equal to or smaller than 1,016 x 1,200 mm. It reportedly can be used for digital flexographic, letterpress, and dry-offset plates.
