Get the Narrow Web Flexo Fundamentals at Fox Valley Technical College

RONKONKOMA, NY, USA—The Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) announces a hands-on training course for those interested in learning the ins and outs of narrow web flexo printing at Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton, WI.

The Fundamentals of Narrow Web Flexographic Printing, a three-and-half-day seminar slated for September 13-16, 2004, will consist of lectures, demonstrations, and operation of the machinery, says FTA. Topics to be covered:

  • flexographic art and copy
  • line, tone, and process printing
  • prepress functions
  • printing plates
  • photopolymer printing plates
  • mounting and proofing
  • mechanical press components
  • press operation
  • anilox rolls
  • flexographic inks, solvents, and substrates
  • printing problems

Participants are aksed to bring old clothes to wear on Wednesday and Thursday, as students will have the opportunity to operate a narrow web press.

Enrollment is limited to eight individuals, and the cost for the three-and-a-half-day seminar is:

  • FTA members: $1250 (USD)
  • Non-Members: $2500 (USD)

FTA adds that it does not make travel or lodging reservations; however, there is a block of rooms set aside at the Holiday Inn Select, 150 Nicolet Road, Appleton, WI, with a rate of $65 per night.
